Welcome to my therapeutic space
Introducing Neurodivergent-affirming Art Psychotherapy, ADHD and Autism coaching and Arts Mentoring.
These sessions are Neurodivergent (ND) led.
Welcome to my therapeutic space, where individuals of all ages can explore their inner worlds through the transformative power of art and expression. My practice is committed to honouring and affirming neurodivergence, and neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ identities, and trans-feminist perspectives. I believe that therapy should be a sanctuary for self-expression, growth, and healing.
These are ND (neurodivergent) led therapy and mentoring services which means I strive to be an inviting and inclusive space for individuals who are struggling to cope with their mental health and daily life. I see clients online but it is also possible to have telephone sessions.
I work integratively, which means I work with you and tailor fit our therapy to you and what you best need. I am a diversity-inclusive therapist who works with all clients regardless of ethnicity, gender or gender non conforming identities, sexuality, age, or disability.
Please note: This website is set on coloured backgrounds to meet the access needs of neurodivergent clients.
I aim to support you to reduce your immediate anxiety and crisis and together we shall create an environment where you feel relaxed enough to explore and develop your strengths, your skills, your resilience and coping mechanisms to continue your life journey.
We can also use art materials when words are too difficult to express, and look at the images as a means of expression.
I am available for short term and long term therapy and/or mentoring sessions.

Welcome to Elinor Rowlands Therapy
Welcome to Elinor Rowlands Therapy, a compassionate space where individuals and families from the neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ and arts communities can find support and guidance through art psychotherapy, mentoring and expressive arts. As an art psychotherapist, arts mentor, and employment coach, I am committed to providing specialised services that cultivate well-being and self-expression tailored to your unique needs. Whether you're an individual, a couple, an adolescent, or a family, I am here to help you on your journey toward healing, creativity, and self-discovery.
While I primarily serve the neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities, I also work with those outside these communities however it’s important you know that I am a neurodivergent+ psychotherapist, researcher and practitioner.
I am glad you're here and taking the first steps on your journey, and I hope to join you along the way.
My Specialised Therapy Services
I offer a range of therapy services, each designed to support your unique journey using Jungian principles, the Social Model of Disability and the Human Rights model of disability along with expressive arts and creativity. My sessions are person-centred and are feminist. Sometimes I work with other practitioners to offer group therapy and workshops or training.
- For Individuals:
My one-to-one art therapy sessions help individuals address personal challenges by engaging in creative processes that facilitate healing and self-expression. Art can unlock emotions in ways words sometimes cannot.
- For Couples & Relationships:
My couples/relationship therapy builds upon creative expression, helping LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent partners strengthen their emotional bonds, improve communication, and resolve conflicts through collaborative art-making.
- For Adolescents:
Expressive arts therapy provides adolescents with a safe space to explore their identities, emotions, and peer relationships. Using creative mediums, teens feel empowered to articulate feelings that may be difficult to express verbally. I see many non-verbal and those experiencing selective mutism or reactive mutism. We come up with ideas together about ways around communicating with teachers and supportive ways that are accessible and person-centred.
- For Families:
Family therapy sessions encourage open communication and shared experiences through art, helping families navigate the complexities of neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ dynamics while cultivating a supportive environment.
Why Choose Elinor Rowlands Therapy?
- Accessible and compassionate care: I offer a safe and supportive environment for all, with specialised services that prioritise your well-being and creative expression.
- Highly trained specialist: As an art psychotherapist, arts mentor, and employment coach, I provide tailored, professional support that addresses emotional and practical needs.
- A safe space for healing and growth: I create a judgment-free environment where you can explore your feelings, address challenges, and engage in meaningful creative work.
Who I Serve
At Elinor Rowlands Therapy, I believe in unmasked and personalised care. I provide therapy to:
- Individuals:
Personal therapy that uses art as a means of healing and exploration allowing you to explore your feelings, express yourself, and deepen your knowledge acknowledging your wisdom and identifying your needs. I also support in identifying access barriers and reducing them so you can lead a life with more awareness. If being verbal is inaccessible for you, we’ll find ways that feel more accessible for you. We can try things out, that feel safe and supportive for you.
- Couples:
Specialised therapy for couples, focusing on LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent relationships through creative collaboration and unmasked and unmasking communication.
- Adolescents:
Therapy for teenagers who face identity questions, school challenges, bullying, access barriers, and mental health concerns, using expressive arts to navigate their emotions. To identify access barriers, and what tools might reduce those barriers.
- Families:
Family therapy sessions that promote communication, understanding, and connection through shared creative experiences within neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ families.
My Accessible Approach
At Elinor Rowlands Therapy, I offer person-centred, compassionate, and accessible therapy. I specialise in working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients, utilising art as a therapeutic tool. Every session is approached with empathy, ensuring that you feel heard and respected. I tailor my methods to fit your needs and preferences while striving to provide a welcoming and accessible space for all.
About this therapy space
I am passionate about helping individuals and families from all walks of life through the transformative power of art and Jungian principles. With specialised training in art psychotherapy and the expressive arts, I am committed to supporting your journey toward creativity, self-acceptance, and holistic well-being. I am registered with HCPC and BAAT.
I have regular supervision, and I am being mentored and supported by three highly professional neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ affirming professionals: an art psychotherapist, a psychoanalyst and a coach to enable me to work safely and with care. I believe psychotherapists need to be supported by professionals who take their training seriously to be able to offer high-quality care. I take part in 150-200 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) annually. I am also in the middle of doing practice-based research (PhD) in autistic stimming as artistic methodology.
As an artist and practitioner:
I am also an artist, researcher, and arts mentor supporting artists and creatives with their practices. With a background in disability, the arts, live performance and audio-video installations. My work explores site-specificity, trans-feminist bodies, and environmental art, focusing on the dimensions of practice through video and recorded voice.
My practice is moved by feelings of “otherness” offered through the prism of ritual and magic. Using repetitive/rhythmic gestures, my neurodivergent plus lens explores texture, voice, recorded media & live performance.
I layer sound, sculpting it around repeated images from nature. My work has a phantasmagorical feel, overwhelming and immersive, secretive, yet particularly revealing to diverse audiences. It has been compared to a Leonora Carrington psychological landscape: At one level displaying a consciousness echoing an ancient sensibility at another level expressing something intensely contemporary.
What we do in
art psychotherapy
Using art materials in ways that allow us to unmask, and explore our true selves. Perhaps we have never had the words to use to explore or express ourselves. In art therapy, we have the possibility to use art materials to be able to do just this.
Being human can be difficult, even harder if you or someone you love is neurodivergent and experiences life as a square peg in a round hole.
Being Human, original art by Elinor Rowlands
Redefine yourself and your arts practice in ways that feel empowering, supportive and important in arts mentoring with Elinor.
Accessible and supportive. These sessions are Neurodivergent-affirming for adults and children.
Welcome. I am a London based art psychotherapist, mentor, and employment coach (also known as an ADHD and Autism Coach). I primarily see clients online. My services address the access barriers that so often fail autistic people and the many neurodivergent individuals who encounter barriers to quality mental health support and access to therapies, mentoring and support.
I advocate for radical changes in the way we approach neurodivergent access in pedagogy, higher education, mental health services and therapy, and access in the arts.
The work I do with individuals is non behaviour based, person centred and I use compassionate models that respect human rights and sensory preferences of individuals that are non trauma inducing.
I am a frequent writer and advocate for social justice, autistic/neurodivergent access and disability rights.
About you
You do not need to have a formal diagnosis of autism or ADD/ADHD to access these services. Nor do you have to be neurodivergent or identify as such however, it is important you know you are seeing a neurodivergent practitioner.
You might not conform to a specific gender and you might not have the words to describe your identity.
You might or might not be a parent but the stress of trying for a baby or having a child is taking its toll. You might want support with identifying your true self.
You might feel lost, confused, excluded and might be in need of some guidance or simply a kind and listening ear.
You might experience barriers at work and be looking for an employment coach/mentor.
You might be an art psychotherapist trainee seeking a neurodivergent art psychotherapist to have weekly therapy with.
In our sessions it’s important you experience autonomy, respect and support.
If you’re a parent or carer seeking support for your autistic and/or ADHD or/and neurodivergent (other conditions under the ND umbrella) child:
Your child might have been failed by a previous therapist or counsellor and you are looking for a neurodivergent psychotherapist or mental health professional for them who is experienced in autism and ADHD.
You might need help to apply for disability benefits for you or your child, or you might need help to apply for Access to Work.
It’s important your child experiences autonomy, respect and support in our sessions.
Due to my neurodivergence, I work with many different hats.
